Can you repair existing products, even if they weren't purchased from you?
What is your current lead time to have products installed?
We are often asked how to measure for single and driveway gates so we thought we would help.
However, we always request to visit your address so one of our team can measure your accurately, please use this example as a quick overview only.
Measure the distance between each post or brickwork that needs to be filled by the gate
Allowances for brackets and hinges should not be added as an installer would take them in to consideration.
Decisions for the type of brackets/hinges need to be decided to obtain the correct gap size.
You need to decide which side you would prefer the security klatch to be fitted, you do this from the outside of the gate looking in.

Understanding Galvanisation
Galvanisation is a process that involves immersing iron or steel objects in molten zinc or applying zinc coatings through electroplating. This creates a barrier between the metal substrate and the surrounding environment, effectively shielding it from corrosion. The zinc layer acts sacrificially, meaning it corrodes first, protecting the underlying iron or steel.
Preserving Wrought Iron
Wrought iron, revered for its strength and malleability, has been a favoured material for centuries, gracing architectural marvels, intricate fences, and ornate gates. However, its susceptibility to rust and corrosion has long been a concern. Galvanisation offers a solution, transforming wrought iron into a formidable defender against the elements.
Benefits of Galvanized Wrought Iron Products
1. Enhanced Durability:
Galvanisation significantly extends the lifespan of wrought iron products by creating a robust barrier against rust and corrosion. This makes them ideal for outdoor applications, where exposure to moisture and harsh weather conditions is inevitable.
2. Low Maintenance:
Unlike untreated wrought iron, galvanised products require minimal maintenance. The protective zinc layer keeps rust at bay, reducing the need for frequent cleaning, painting, or repairs. This not only saves time and effort but also lowers long-term maintenance costs.
3. Aesthetic Appeal:
Galvanised wrought iron retains its timeless charm and visual appeal while offering superior protection. Whether adorning a historic estate or a modern urban landscape, these products maintain their elegant appearance for years to come, adding value and curb appeal to any property.
4. Environmental Sustainability:
Galvanisation is an environmentally friendly process, as zinc is a fully recyclable material. By choosing galvanised wrought iron products, consumers contribute to sustainable practices by reducing the need for frequent replacements and minimizing waste.
Conclusion
Galvanisation stands as a testament to the ingenuity of metallurgy, offering a simple yet powerful solution to the age-old problem of metal corrosion. For wrought iron products, in particular, galvanisation represents a transformative process that enhances their durability, minimizes maintenance requirements, and preserves their timeless beauty for generations to come. By embracing galvanised wrought iron, we not only safeguard our investments but also uphold a tradition of craftsmanship and sustainability in the modern world.
